The short version
- Your images never leave your device. Packing, compression and export run entirely in your browser.
- No accounts, no cookies, no ads, and no tracking across sites.
- Anonymous, cookie-free visit counts (Cloudflare Web Analytics) so I can see how many people use the site.
- The app itself only ever sends your licence key, to Polar — when you activate Pro, and a quick daily check that it's still active.
Who is responsible
OptiSheet is run by an independent developer in the UK, who is responsible for your data under UK data protection law. Questions or requests: support@optisheet.app.
What stays on your device
OptiSheet stores a few things in your browser so it works the way you expect. None of it is sent to me:
- An autosave of your current project, so a refresh doesn't lose your work.
- Whether Pro is activated on this browser, with your licence key and this browser's activation ID.
- An offline copy of the app, so it loads fast and works without a connection.
You can remove all of it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
What leaves your device
- Activating Pro: your licence key is sent to Polar to check it's valid, along with a short label naming your browser, operating system and the date (for example “Chrome on Windows · 8 Nov 2026”). The label is only so you can tell your activations apart in your Polar account; it identifies nothing else about you.
- Keeping Pro active: at most once a day, while OptiSheet is open and online, your licence key and this browser's activation ID are sent to Polar to confirm the licence is still active. If you're offline or Polar can't be reached, Pro simply stays on.
- Buying Pro: checkout is run by Polar, who collect your name, email and payment details to process the order and send your licence key. Their privacy policy applies. I receive your name, email and order details from them so I can help with your purchase and refunds.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical details of each request — such as your IP address and browser type — to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. I only see aggregate statistics, such as page views per country, never individual visitors.
Pages also include Cloudflare Web Analytics, which records an anonymous page view — the page, where you came from, your browser type, country, and page-load timings. It uses no cookies, doesn't fingerprint your device or follow you across other websites, and I only ever see the totals. Blocking it (for example with an ad blocker) doesn't affect OptiSheet at all.
If you email support@optisheet.app, I keep the conversation so I can help you. I don't run a mailing list and will never add you to one.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it, by emailing support@optisheet.app. If you're unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
